For curious minds who want answers.
model.p by Mit is an actively managed model portfolio of ETFs. Its aim is to present a selection of ETFs and guide users on building and managing a portfolio.
model.p screens thousands of ETFs and follows a "watchlist". It then selects a handful of ETFs and places them into asset class categories, blends their exposures across geography, sectors, and themes, and then optimizes their allocations. This step is "portfolio construction".
A risk management framework provides a "risk rating" of each ETF and the total portfolio. ETFs are ranked from very low to very high risk (5 risk categories). While the ETF allocations are in place, it monitors how much risk each ETF contributes to the portfolio.
When selecting and allocating to ETFs, model.p considers multiple viewpoints in its decision-making process, like fundamental analysis and technical indicators. model.p tags an investment rationale to each ETF and presents short notes on the latest rotations, thoughts on ETF products, markets, and the portfolio.
Users can track the performance of model.p month-by-month, watch the top and bottom contributors to the total portfolio return, and observe the relationship between market conditions and performance outcomes.
Insights on model.p are published daily through the app which is hosted on Base44's platform.
